DC low voltage LED strip lights are widely used for decorative and accent lighting due to their high reliability and safety. To create the right moods for different atmospheres, an LED strip dimmer is required to control the lights to adjust the brightness, colors and dynamic changing modes.
Generally DC 12V LED strip lights are the most popular ones in the market, and to control them, LED dimmer 12v shall be used. Since the lights are designed with constant voltage input, the dimmer shall be designed with constant voltage output.
The LED strip dimmer is designed with PWM output that enables smooth brightness, color adjustment and dynamic changing patterns. And a constant voltage power supply is necessary to power it.
LED strip dimmer is able to control monochrome, dual color, RGB and RGBW lights. For monochrome LEDs, it enables dimming and switching with memory and brightness saving function. Many control protocols are available for the LED dimmer 12V, such as RF and WiFi wireless, DMX512, 0/1-10V and DALI, among which, RF is a great smart control solution for home lighting. The strip dimmer has a built-in RF receiver which receives RF signal from the control panels. The control distance between the panel and the dimmer can be up to 20 meters.
The control panel is available in various styles that can be portable or wall mounted. Remote ones with keys, wall mounted push button ones, rotary knob ones and full touch panel ones are available for different requirements. Full touch panel style is the latest technology that enables all operations by simple finger touch.
Also WiFi control via APP installed on IOS or Android system is possible while the dimmer is working with a WiFi-RF converter that converts WiFi signal to RF. The converter shall be connected to a router with RJ45 port and added to home network.
Both RF and WiFi are smart lighting control and the future development trend of smart home. They enable easier and more flexible control for home lighting.
